I searched for some replacement 1/4" wire rope clamps for a boat lift I was modifying. Most every clamp I found had been given some bad reviews. There were no reviews given for this product at the time of my purchase. The biggest complaint was the clamps were much smaller than the buyer had anticipated and they broke easily. I asked for some measurements of these clamps, since no measurements were given in the product description, but the only response I got was that most likely no one was going to respond to my inquiry. These were the only 316 Stainless Steel clamps I could find; all others were 304 Stainless Steel. So I placed an order for ten clamps. You can see from the picture that they were much smaller than the 1/4" rope wire clamps (clamp on the left in the image) I was replacing. I used six of the clamps then recently I had to remove the clamps to make some adjustments. Two of the U-Bolts broke when loosening them and on a third the nut jammed when trying to loosen it to the point where it will no longer screw or unscrew.I had hoped these clamps would be better than others found through an Amazon search but unfortunately they appear to be of no better quality than other clamps. If you have an application where you would never need to remove and reuse these clamps they may work of you. But if you have to remove them you may run into problems like I did.
