I have not used it yet, but I can compare it with the Wolfcraft 3415405 Right Angle Clamp which sells for 1/4 of the price. The Wolfcraft base is a zinc die-cast component - fairly lightweight, but a low temperature alloy with reasonable mechanical properties (although less than aluminum). The Wolfcraft has steel vice pads and a steel lead screw that are black anodized, and actually look like plastic. But they are steel. The handle appears to be plastic. The Bessey has a cast ductile iron base, subsequently machined, and plated for corrosion resistance (most likely zinc coated). It's lead screw looks like a copper-base alloy, but it is actually ferritic (steel) with a copper-colored coating, which may actually be for spatter-resistance. I didn't do any metallurgical analysis - just a personal observation.I purchased 3 Wolfcraft and 1 Bessey. I will use all four vises on the same project simultaneously with the 3 less expensive vises on the corners as I am not welding, and switch the Bessey to secure the corner that I am welding. It's your choice.
