I found the same clamp, only smaller, at a local hardware store, it was about a third more expensive. I spent a two thirds the money and got a bigger clamp. They’re easy to use and very sturdy.Well made, easy to use and priced right. No one can have too many clamps.Recently got into woodworking and needed some clamps. I recognized these Irwin clamps and the same type my Dad and Grandpa used, so I bought them. I've used them for a couple projects so far and they've worked perfectly! This is a great clamp and spreader. Love the size and strength of the clamp. The product packaging is simple enough but the shipping box was 2ft by 2ft by 4in. Ok sure, but why pack a long skinny thing in a square box.Good value for the sale price.I bought this set to jerry rig into fishing pole holders at the pier. Did not work for that purpose, but they are good clamps and I've had more of these. Again, I really did not need a pair, but there seemed to be no way to buy just one that I saw.I am very pleased by these clamps. They have a very positive and sturdy mechanism, and they develop more clamping pressure than those I've used in the past. They hold their set clamping force without the gradual slippage. All moving parts that are involved in producing and holding the clamping pressure are made from fairly heavy metal. The actual handles are plastic, and the actual clamping jaws seem to be made from a fiber-reinforced plastic of some sort, which are heavier built and apparently sturdier than other ones. The slip-on pads on the jaws are not the greatest, but they seem to do the job well enough.PRO:1. Price per foot.2. Brand.3. Reputation.CON:1. Lacks some of the 'kool' features a more expensive set would have.2. Can't buy just one.3. Plastic can snap over the years, but that plastic keeps the price down.OTHER:BUY if you want reliable product.DON'T BUY if you are wanting top shelf product, that'll cost ya more $$.Works well for home use. Does not seem like it would stand up to daily use especially the pads.So I picked up 2-24” Irwin quick grip clamps for a larger project that needed clamping and my need for a set this size is infrequent. I bought this on cost alone. I do own another smaller size of another brand. Everything about these scream cheap and poorly made. They worked and I will get some use out of them, but if you need serious clamps or regular use then pay more and get more. I have a few other Irwin products that are not cheesy, so l was kind of disappointed. I had read the reviews however, so suspected the quality might be low. Believe those that report issues. Those that give glowing reviews must not have anything to compare it to. I am giving it a 4 start because it was less expensive and did the job. If I would have paid the supposed “list price” this would be a 2 star review. So disappointed. Irwin used to make great stuff until they outsourced to "you know where." These aren't very practical, especially because the pads don't swivel much. The rubber pads are also slippery and made of some cheap plastic type material (definitely not like the old heavy duty rubber grips). The throat is also not very practical. It's too shallow. I'll never buy Irwin stuff again. I thought I'd try them again one more time after their Vice Grips went down the toilet in quality, but nope. It's everything apparently. Me costó $513.I needed a one-handed clamp for some heavy duty clamping and this item does the trick. The I-beam shaped bar is very strong and rigid - doesn't flex. The movable part of the clamp slides smoothly on the bar and is very easy to position and clamp one-handed. The face of the jaws is 1 1/2" by 1 7/8" with square edges - which is very useful when you don't have a lot of space on the edge for a clamp. The face on the fixed end of the clamp pivots slightly to adjust for uneven material. My favourite feature of this clamp is the quick change mechanism to convert from a clamping to a spreading action. This clamp has a sliding clip to make the change, unlike most trigger clamps that use a both which is both slow and a risk to lose the screw.I you can get these clamps on sale, then you will have an unbeatable value.I will definitely buy another 1 or 2 clamps if I can get them on sale again. These clamps are hard to find in local hardware stores. These were less expensive than any I'd bought before. There is a 'heavy-duty' version, but I've been quite happy with the 'medium'.Super pour la pose de charnières dissimulées
