Before buying these I had been using some cheap Walmart clamps for clamping down my wood working projects. I had always wanted to get some name brand or at least better quality clamps, but the ones at my local lumber yard are kinda pricey. I found these one day and thought I'd get them to try out because the price was right for the amount of clamps you get.Upon receiving them I was a little disappointed at how thin the bars were compared to the Walmart clamps I have and also how they use Phillips screw to attach the end clamp compared to the Walmart one having a wing nut to flip the end around so you can use them as a spreader, not a deal breaker but takes a bit more time to flip around than a wing nut.I'm sure these will hold up just fine for the woodworking that I do, but time will tell if they hold up better or not.One thing that these do seem to do better is clamp a little bit tighter than the Walmart clamps, as well as being about a 1/2in longer.Despite the few issues I have with these they have performed well for the work I have used them for so far and for the price I would recommend. I will update in the future if I have any issues with these.EXCELLENT FOR THE BRAND.The clamps deserve five stars, but I gave them four. These are solid, simple, well-made clamps by a reputable company. Light weight, too! But the blister pack they come in can send you to the Emergency Room. Of course, Irwin is not alone in using these hazardous blister packs; they are everywhere now, an accident waiting to happen. God I hate them. There is not a knife or a pair of scissors in the whole house that is up to the task of opening this package safely, even if I wear rubber gloves. These things were built for people who work by themselves and occasionally need more "hands". They are easy to use with one hand and don't take up much room on the clamped object. I will buy more! The three sizes in this set are really helpful.Got what I wanted. Didn’t pay too muchLight weight, easy to use. Makes a good grip, but can find claps that have x3 - x4 higher rating pressure for comparable price.Used it quite allot since purchase to build a wooden fence on my back yard, without these clamps my life would have been much harder to locate the wooden logs accurately while drilling - easy to locate, grip well & easy to retract when done.Set of two is a must!I love these clamps. Probably use them ince a week or more, when I need to glue something and clamp it (usually overnight is my rule). But I also use them to just hold something in position while I drill holes, or various othe 3-handed needs.Irwin grips are always a good thing to have and having different ones helps conce trate on what you might buy in the future. The small ones are small, and quite dinky... So for general wood work... I'm not sure what use I'd find for those... But never say never! These easy to use clamps are an absolute must for almost every DIY task. Sturdy, great value and so easy to use. Excellent ?Likethem a lot and used already one beforeRecomend to evwryone who is doing DIYfirst time i used the large ones the plastic side came off and the trigger shoot all over the place what a waste of moneyUsed these clamps to make a drawer unit for my pick up truck.Exactly what I wanted, done the job well, quality but inexpensive
