Nice and tight doesn't harden your sugarI saw this set of jars and knew that they would match perfectly with my kitchen decor so I bought two sets. One set I received, washed it up and gifted it to my mother for mother's day. She loves it!The second set, I washed one jar, and have began to use it in my kitchen. It's great.Today, I planned to wash the remaining three jars so that I could begin to use them. I washed two no problem, but when I opened the largest one - I looked inside and to my HORROR I saw a very large, dead beetle type big on the bottom of the jar. I immediately put the lid back on - you know, in case it wasn't actually dead, and set it to the side.Yes, I can easily dump said bug out and plan to use the jar as planned...but I'm a bit grossed out by the fact that there was a dead bug in my product!I still give this product a good review, but I'm a bit disappointed that perhaps, things are not inspected prior to being shipped. For damage or creatures or any malfunctions. this is the part that saddens me!Great product and MADE IN AMERICA. Nice size assortment and reasonably light-weight. Very happy with Anchor Hocking and highly recommend.I purchased three of these things, expecting them to be a little shorter and wider than they are, but they’re not inconveniently sized. I used mine for coffee beans and dice, separately of course. The one I stored my dice in hasn’t gotten a single scratch even from the metal dice I use and I’ve been a little aggressive by tossing dice in. I wouldn’t recommend taking these out of your house to transport things because they are fragile and not to put hot things inside/around because they can shatter from being acrylic. I probably won’t continue using one of them for dice because I haven’t been able to bring any dice with me because the large storage container is so convenient that I don’t really feel bothered to look for the specific dice I need. If I ever need more space I will definitely pick these up, they’re not perfect but they do an amazing job at keeping things stored safely and they last a long time.My granddaughter wanted cannisters that let her know how much product she still had, but that looked nice. She is happy.I love the color - I have red accents in my kitchen and these go very well. They also match the bread keeper I just bought. What I don't like about them is the size. I wanted to be able to get 5 pounds of flour in the biggest one, but it only holds 2 1/2 pounds, and the next smallest one only holds about 2 pounds of sugar. I put powdered sugar in the third - and it's not quite big enough. The smallest one holds brown sugar. I'm not sure how much, but it's nowhere near what the plastic package holds. I think I should have gotten 2 sets - but in my very small kitchen, there just isn't room.If you don't care if you can't get 5 pounds of flour in the biggest one - go for it. They are really pretty.Very sturdy and a lovely addition to my homeGOOD: Easy to clean (soap and water in the sink, towel dry). Clear lid (so you can see what's inside). Won't expose contents to light the way a clear canister would. Containers are well-made.NOT SO GOOD: Locking tab on the canister is thin and feels likely to bend over time.I have a heavier, more solid container with a similar design that's lasted for years (great for flour). These are smaller and lighter. Don't know how they'll hold up. But so far, they're working fine. With the glass windows it's easy to see the contents. The red is an attractive shade of red, a blue red color and add a real dash of color to your kitchen. Please read the product information provided stating the size, as they ar not the size of the usual cannisters that hold flour, sugar, ect. I use mine for wild rice, grains like quinoa an the like which do not need a large container . I highly recommended this product so long as the buyer is aware of the size of the cannisters and what you will use them for. I find them functional for the products I use in them and have received many compliments on the set as well. Another plus they do not take up much room on the counter. Dianne, CanadaThey were everything I hoped they would be, and the perfect red for my kitchen. Each one holds what I was wanting them to, and the seals fit nice and tight. Glad I bought them. The only issue was one had a couple of paint chips in it, and looked like it had been opened up before, most likely returned and exchanged in my set to send to someone, but the set wasn’t marked returned, so I got it. I did keep it anyways, just touched it up with red nail polish, just sorry it was on the front rather than the back of it, but it doesn’t notice that much, so I’ll still give it a four out of five, just for the fact the tall one hold spaghetti perfectly!If this product had been made via in the USA! it would be of better quality thats what i was paying for ! Not super thrilled my fiance was happy there is a spot about the size of half a dime that paint is or looks like somone touched it while it was wet unsure of that! Other then that seems to be decent quality! Anchor hocking your starting to look like everybody else quantity over quality and that is sad because my mother and grandmother have some of your products that are atleast between 10-30 years old dont fix it if it aint Broke!lids do not fit smoothly. with the odd plastic seal in place they are impossible to close. when you cut the bottom flange of the seal away they close better but the top flange is warped and uneven. the lids don't fit sit level. jars have very noticeable mold lines. thin glass will break. made in china. poor quality
